| We don't keep our own stud cat and had never even considered keeping a boy, but as one of our main pleasures is showing and each queen is off the bench for at least six months while she raises her kittens, we decided to keep a male kitten to show as a neuter. Our current boys are: |

 Raasay.
 Overall Best in Show.

Raasay is a handsome Blue Point boy, and doesn't he know it! He loves the sound of his own voice and recently helped (or more likely hindered) the laying of our new patio. We are hoping that he will follow in the paw-steps of his mother, Skye, and his first outing to a show proved promising. His show diary so far: Midland Counties: Open first and Best of Breed. Somerset:Open First. Celtic Longhair & Semi-Longhair: Open first and Best of Breed plus he was nominated for Best in Show. Wiltshire & District: Open first and Best of Breed. Seal & Blue Point Birman: Open first, Best of Breed, Best in Show Kitten and Overall Best in Show. West of England & South Wales: Open first and Best of Breed. Raasay has also won ten Misc. firsts so far. |

Hawley is from Skye’s first litter. Skye decided to hang on and give birth at the most inconvenient time possible, in other words on the day of my sisters wedding. Just as my sister was walking up the aisle, Skye produced Hawley and his brother. Luckily for me, a good friend had offered to keep an eye on Skye so I was able to fulfil my duties as the bride’s chauffeur and witness. The vicar who took the wedding was the Rev. Hawley, hence the pet name.Hawley had a wonderful kitten career, winning 4 Open firsts, 3 Best of Breeds and 1 Misc first, plus he was Best of Variety Semi-longhair Kitten at the Wessex Cat Club show.
In March 2007 Hawley has started adult classes and at his first outing he won Open first and Premier Certificate. He is taking a break from the showbench now but we hope that he will return sometime in the future. |
